scenery to make a great golfing tale of adventure when you return home.
The courses were redesigned in the 1980's to update the terrain and bring in new concepts to draw attention to new
technologies in course design. What makes these courses unique is that the designer kept some of the original
designs as well. This made a blended course that represents old and new in the design and gives the course the
old-school feel with its new technologies. Credit needs to be given to the designer as he incorporated the old and
new together in fluidity.
When you golf Portstewart, you can enjoy several options. The strand at the Portstewart golf club can be quite

This golf course was first founded back in 1894 and re-customised by Willie
Park Junior around the 1920's. However, the golf course further developed and expanded in 1981 by purchasing the
land known as Thistly Hollow. This expansion enabled a larger golf course, with 7 more holes that stretch through
sand dunes, hills and natural scenery. This has since made the golf course one of the popular tourist attractions
within Portstewart bringing people from all ages and locations.
Hosting many important tournaments, including Amateur and Professional Championships, such as
the British Girls Championship, this golf course offers a huge 54 holes to play with. Not only the great golf
course, but the views and scenery of the North Antrim Coast, close proximity to the Giant's Causeway, there is a
true unique charismatic feeling when playing here.
